LIFT groups often get the chance to take a special trip during the semester, partly to have fun and relax, but also with the purpose of enhancing their overall LIFT learning experience. In the past, trips have been taken to:
-
- New York City (seeing a Broadway show, visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Central Park and other sights)
-
-
- Niagara Falls, NY
-
- Montreal, Canada
-
- Washington, DC
-
- Lake Placid (home of the 1932 and 1980 Winter Olympics - including the arena where the historic USA vs. USSR 'Miracle on Ice' hockey game was played) - Boston, MA - Cooperstown, NY - and the Baseball Hall of Fame
These trips add plenty of memories to each semester and play a part in group bonding as we explore - but there is also a lot to be gained in way of cultural observation. The students are challenged to examine each new venue through the eyes of a developing Christian leader, interested in better understanding the world around them and in so doing, becoming better equipped to reach it with Christ and His love.
