L  I  F  T    S  t  a  f  f Beginning with LIFT 20 (Fall 2008), LIFT will be in the hands of two new directors. We are excited to see how God has brought them to us and we know that He will use them to lead LIFT well. LIFT Director Tim Trezise, along with his wife Kathy and children Caleb (8) and Joy (6), is coming to us from Mexico, where he has served for the past five years as the Program Director and Adventure Leader for EduVenture Mexico. Tim's experience with EduVenture will serve him well with its many similarities to LIFT, particularly a focus on discipleship and hands-on ministry experience. Tim and Kathy are also well-acquainted with the Adirondacks from their years living in western New York. Tim's vast knowledge and experience with outdoors and adventure sports will enable him to take LIFT's outdoor initiatives to new levels. He and Kathy also share a heart for helping college-aged students to grow in Christ. Prior to EduVenture, Tim and Kathy taught at Houghton College for nearly a decade. Tim (M.S., A.T.C) was the head Athletic Trainer and taught physical and outdoor education classes, and Kathy was a math professor. Kathy is a skilled educator (she has a Ph.D. in curriculum development) and loves to mentor young women, so she's also looking forward to this new opportunity to serve at CAMP-of-the-WOODS. Caleb and Joy are excited to begin a new chapter in their young lives and will undoubtedly 'spice up' future LIFT gatherings!

Associate LIFT Director Tim Owens will be joining the LIFT team straight out of four years at Dallas Theological Seminary where he has just completed his Master of Theology degree. He has been married to Courtney for five years and they recently entered the world of parenthood with the arrival of Drew just a few months ago. LIFT classes will greatly benefit from Tim's solid theological training as well as his experience working with college students in various church settings. He brings with him not only enthusiasm and energy, but also a passion to pour into the lives of young people and walk alongside them as they learn more about the God they serve. Courtney is an elementary school teacher who shares Tim's desire to minister to young men and women. Though she looks forward to staying home with little Drew, Courtney is also excited about the chance to live in the LIFT community and connect with the students each semester. We are so pleased that God led these precious families to us and are eager to see how He will use them for His glory during their time here.

David Sonju, ThM (Dallas Theological Seminary), has been the LIFT director from Sept '05 through May '08. David is married to Joy, a graduate of LIFT 9, who shares his interests in the outdoors and theology (MA Biblical Studies; Wheaton College).  They feel blessed to have spent the first of their years together living and working in such a beautiful environment. They are excited to be moving on in Sept '08 for David to pursue a PhD in Theology at the University of St Andrews in Scotland.

Everyone at LIFT is indebted to the incredible service, hard work, and love the Sonju's have poured into this ministry. LIFT would not be what it is today if it were not for their stewardship of God's faithfulness.  They will be missed!
